Overall experience..
This experience was better than I would have ever imagined! The program is very closely linked to Iowa State, so I never felt like I was doing it all alone. Caceres is a very safe and comfortable town with a great university to study at. While abroad I took 12 credits in Spanish; Literature, Grammar, Conversations and Phonetics. The education was great. Financially this program was excellent. I would highly recommend this to any Spanish speaking individuals looking for culture and travel experience.

I learned...
My older sister did this program a year before me and had nothing but amazing things to say about it, so I figured I would try it out! I went to a few info meetings and knew it would be an excellent choice, and I was right!

An impact to my life...
This wonderful experience has opened my views on the world in a substantial way. I was able to travel to other countries/cities almost every weekend and each location had a new culture to adapt to. It was a great experience to be in an unfamiliar place that is completely out of my comfort zone. From this, I have learned that it is a huge world out there and being cultured is so important. After having this experience, I plan to continue traveling and adapting to life around me. I hope to have a solid career in the states for the early years of my life, but would also love to live in Europe and work. This experience has made me much more comfortable abroad and indecent.

I will never forget...
My most memorable experience was meeting my 6 best friends and traveling the world with them! Not a single day went by without lots of laughter and good memories. I know these will be friends I keep throughout college and I am grateful that this trip provide me with that.

Advice for others...
I would recommend to fully open your mind and go in with no expectations. It is important to let the experience change your life quite a bit, it is temporary. There will be times of discomfort, but those are a wonderful way to learn about who you are and your personal values. Enjoy every single day and do not count down the days until you return!
