Monday

What: Cherry Pies Sale
Come get your fresh cherry pie from on Monday for $2/pie. Pies will also be sold out of the back of the Tearoom Tuesday and Wednesday while supplies last. This event is hosted by the Department of Apparel, Events, and Hospitality Management
When: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Where: Joan Bice Underwood Tearoom (MacKay Hall)

What: The CHS Professional and Scientific Fair
A light lunch will be served at the event at which visitors will learn more about projects and services provided by P&S staff. The event is open to the campus community.
When: 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Tuesday

What: ‘Game of Life’
Play interactive games about the human journey through life and how we develop along the way. Free Kona Ice and water bottles will be given away for playing! Bras for the Cause boob cupcakes will be for sale. This event is hosted by the Department of Human Development and Family Studies.
When: 11 p.m. – 1 p.m.
Where: East Marston Lawn

What: A Hollywood Career in Costume Design
Oscar nominated, seasoned, Hollywood costume designer Ruth E. Carter. Open to all — campus and Ames community. Carter’s work includes The Butler, Selma, Amistad, Roots (reboot), and most recently Black Panther!
There will be a pre-lecture reception in CY Stevens Celebrity Cafe (ground level); open to CHS alumni, faculty, staff, and students.

Wednesday

What: Human Sciences Walk
This event is hosted by the Department of Kinesiology.
When: 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.
Where: South Lawn of MacKay Hall

What: Panel: Educational and Socialization Experiences of Latinx Youth
Kim Greder, Sarah Rodriguez-Jones, Consuelo “Liz” Mendez-Shannon, and José Antonio Rosa will lead this panel. This event is hosted by the Department of Human Development and Family Studies and the School of Education.
When: 3:30 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Where: 108 Kildee Hall

What: Multicultural and International Student Dinner
When: 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Thursday

What: Human Sciences Week Club Carnival
Showcasing the student organizations of the College of Human Sciences. This event will be complete with an inflatable obstacle course, carnival food, and music! Free Chipotle will be provided to the first 400 students attending. Bras for the Cause boob cupcakes for sale.
When: 11:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Where: Central Campus (between Curtis Hall and Beardshear Hall)

What: Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream Demonstration with free ice cream!
This event is hosted by the Food Science Club.
When: 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Where: 210 MacKay Hall

What: Panel: Is Human Trafficking Happening on Your Campus?
Ruth Buckles, Youth and Shelter Services, Teens Against Human Trafficking Coordinator; Christopher Burros, lieutenant, ISU Police Department, crime-prevention programming and evidence; and Alissa Stoehr, lecturer, women and gender studies, will lead a panel for faculty, staff, and students. It is intended to help all campus partners to identify what human trafficking looks like on campus, within majors, and throughout the Ames community. Light refreshments will be served.

Friday

What: Pizza and Packing Philanthropy Event for ISU4U
Who doesn’t love philanthropy and free pizza? Come help pack school supplies for elementary schools in need in Des Moines and enjoy delicious pizza for lunch. This event is hosted by the School of Education.
When: 12 p.m. – 2 p.m.
