What: Culinary Boot Camp for a Healthy Diet
ISU Dining and Culinary Science Club is hosting a nutrition and cooking class. Learn how to prepare a healthy meal, how to safely handle foods, and receive tips on nutritional grocery shopping. Limited to 50 students.

Learn about living a balanced and healthy lifestyle. Hosted by the Body Image & Eating Disorder Awareness Club. Subway lunch provided to participants!

What: Lecture: I-Min Lee, 2016 Helen LeBaron Hilton Endowed Chair
Physical Activity: Wonder Drug for Chronic Disease Prevention
I-Min Lee is a professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School and a leading researcher on the role of physical activity in preventing chronic diseases and enhancing longevity. She has served as an expert panelist for such groups as the American College of Sports Medicine, American Heart Association, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, for which she wrote the scientific report on the 2008 physical activity guidelines. Her most recent research has focused on women’s health in collaboration with Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the National Cancer Institute.

What: Lecture: Paul Collier
Rethinking the Refugee Crisis
Economist Paul Collier is an expert on developing markets and the author of The Bottom Billion: Why the Poorest Countries are Failing and What Can Be Done About It. His most recent book is Exodus: How Migration Is Changing Our World. Collier is director of the Centre for the Study of African Economies at Oxford University, adviser to the Strategy and Policy Department of the International Monetary Fund, and adviser to the Africa Region of the World Bank. He served previously as director of the World Bank’s Development Research Group.

What: Philanthropy BBQ Lunch
Donate $1 or a non-perishable food item in return for Hickory Park BBQ. All financial proceeds go to the United Way of Story County while non-perishable food items go to The SHOP food pantry.

What: College of Human Sciences Scholarship Recognition Reception and Program
The College of Human Sciences will host a reception and program honoring the 2016-2017 scholarship donors and recipients. Refreshments will be served at 3 p.m. in the first floor lobby of the Scheman Building followed by the scheduled program at 3:30 p.m. in Benton Auditorium.

SHOP Can Drive: Donate your cans of non-perishable food to the SHOP pantry all week long. Drop off locations include 220 MacKay Hall, 131 MacKay Hall, 1620 Lagomarcino Hall, Forker Main Lobby, and 2312 Food Science Building.

Peer Mentor Recognition: CHS Peer mentors will be recognized for their service to CHS learning communities. Watch for pop-in announcements at CHS orientation classes this week.
